General Information for members of CINEBANK, Gibraltar’s Leading Video Rental
Network. Your Card is now valid at the three CINEBANKS and the CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTRE.
Please note the following
1. The Video shop Assistant should have shown you how to operate the machines.
If not, full instructionsare contained in the panels on each CINEBANK.
2. Take care of your CINEBANK CARD . Keep it away from heat and magnetic fields
(eg Television, Mobile phones) since the card is very sensitive. If spoilt,
a new card will cost you £2.
3. Please read the initial screen display as this provides useful information for
members.
4. In the unlikely event of an item being defective, either return it to the
CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTRE as soon as possible, or in the event that the CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTRE
is closed, put it back into the machine and report it to the shop as soon
as possible. Bring in your card and, once checked, your card will be credited
accordingly.
5. You can credit you card in any of the machines where £5 or £10
are acceptable or in the CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTRE wherein any amount in cash, cheques
or Credit Cards (minimum for Credit Card is £10) will be acceptable.
6. Films taken out of a specific machine have to be returned to that machine.
Any problem with retention of cards etc, or any other problem related to
the CINEBANK must be reported to the particular CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTRE
which is located inside the Shell Service Station which is located at Line Wall Road.
7. Remember to read your copy of the membership contract in order to make
yourself knowledgeable as to the condition of use particularly your liabilities
on the rental of videos and use of your card. If you lend somebody your
card, you are the person responsible.
Please note that we are available at 52121 on a 24 hours basis where you can report
any problem or give us any comments. When the answering machine replies,
we will try to resolve your problem and we will get back to you as soon
as possible.

to our automated video dispensing service.
Key in your Access Code and you will have instant access to more that 5000
Videos / DVDs / Playstation / XBOX Games shown either by category,
Director, Actors etc.

RESERVATIONS
The machines
are equipped with a Reserve mechanism by which you can reserve any specific
item. This works on a different system than normal renting and it is the
only time when CINEBANK charges in advance. Please read carefully since
Management accepts no responsibility for either incorrect usage or any
charges particularly on telephone reservations when you are not at home
to receive reservations call.
1.
RESERVING AND MANUAL COLLECTION
(a) When
the item you require is not available and you press confirm a screen will
open which advises you to “REQUEST BOOKING WHEN AVAILABLE” is displayed
(b) If
you require booking press YES.
Once you
have done the above the machine will charge you 30 pence. The film is pre-charged
to your card and the film will be at your disposal for a period of 24 hours
after its return. To collect the film just insert your card in the Main
Dispenser (Please see note at the end of this communication).
2.
RESERVATION BY TELEPHONE CALL
(machine
equipped with a modem which will ring 5 times every half hour from the
moment the film is available depending on the time range that you have
registered.) Please note that only local telephone numbers (including local
mobiles) are permissible.
(a) When
the item you require is not available and you press confirm a screen will
open which advise you to “REQUEST BOOKING WHEN AVAILABLE”. Press YES.
(b) Reservation
by phone – press YES
(c) Screen
will advise you of :
(i)
Change of Starting time - Using 24 hour clock, choose time, and confirm.
(ii)
Change of Ending time - Using 24 hours clock, - choose time and then confirm.
(iii) Phone
Number - Enter phone in which you want to be called (ONLY LOCAL
NUMBERS) and then confirm.
Once you have
done the above and are satisfied PRESS CONFIRM BOOKING. The machine charges
you 80 pence and when the chosen item is available, it will ring you five
times at half hourly intervals and ask you to collect video. The film is
pre-charged to your card and the film will be at your disposal for the
next 24 hours. If you are not at home when the machine calls, you
can also collect the film if available by inserting your card in the dispenser.
PLEASE NOTE
that the management accepts no responsibility for wrong use of the reservation
system or for pre-charges if films are not collected during the 24
hours period following the availability of the film. Please also note that
the system of per hour charging does not apply to reservations and items
are charged on a per day rate.
Remember – If you are not sure, do not use the reservation system since CINEBANK
will accept no claims for this system.

USE
OF CINEBANK MACHINES

THIS IS A TYPICAL LAYOUT AS CAN BE SEEN OUTSIDE AT THE SHELL SERVICE STATION, WINSTON CHURCHILL AVENUE. AT THIS LOCATION THERE ARE ALSO TWO COVER MACHINES LOCATED INSIDE THE SHOP, ONE OF WHICH IS EQUIPPED WITH A EURO NOTE READER FOR RE-CHARGING YOUR CARDS. THE LINE WALL ROAD PETROL STATION CINEBANK HAS TWO MACHINES AND ONE COVER WITH THE MAIN CONTROLLER POSITIONED JUST LEFT OF CENTRE.
IN THE SOUTH DISTRICT, THERE IS ONE MACHINE (ON THE LEFT AS YOU ENTER) AND ONE COVER SCREEN.
INTRODUCTION:
The instructions
below are located in the machine panels at all CINEBANKS. However, we reproduce
the instructions below in order to help you to understand them in
the quiet of your own home/office.
Remember,
the first screen shown after inserting the card in the “Message Screen”.
Please read this screen carefully since it carries useful information.
USING THE
NOTE READERS
Note readers
can be used for £5.00 or £10.00 Pounds Sterling or Gibraltar
Notes. The reader will not accept any notes which are broken , torn or
damaged in any way.
1.
Insert Membership Card in the slot located beside any of the monitor screen.
2. Key in
your personal number.
3. Choose
the Services you require – in this case Re- Charge.
4. Insert
the note adjusted in a semi-circle as denoted by the shape of the Note
Reader.
5. If unsuccessful,
try again using a different note position.
6. Once
complete, the new credit will appear in the top left hand side of the screen.
7. If this
does not happen, Insert membership card in the Main Controller (Returning
Films Membership Card Slot) and your New Account Credit will be Displayed
on the window immediately above it
NOTE:
you can also credit your account by calling into the
CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTRE
where any amount
will be accepted. Credit Cards are also accepted (minimum £10)
Renting
An Item :
The machine
will allow you Eight Minutes to make your choice. Please see the Monitor
on top of your screen wherein the time bar appears. After the initial
time allocated, the machine will debit your account at 10 pence per 8 minutes.
1.
Insert Membership card in the slot located beside any of the monitor screens.
In the case of the backup/cover machines/screens, the system operates on a swipe system
.
2. Key in
your Personal Number.
3. Choose
the Service you require – in this case “RENT”. – and then VHS or DVD or
CD Rom (Games).
4. Follow
the instructions on the screens in the following basic categories.
a.
Choose Item e.g. Thriller.
b. Cursor
up or down and confirm choice.
c. View
Film and/ or read item information.
NOTE: at
all times and until final selection of the Item you can revert to the previous
Menu and choose again. If you decide not to rent and item, make sure that
you exit totally.
d. Select
an item to Rent.
NOTE: charge
information will appear on the screen at which stage you need to re-confirm
choice.
5.
Repeat and follow the procedure to rent another item.
6. Finish
your selection.
7.
Put your card into the main controller wherein your item will be dispensed.
NOTE: The Price
structures which appears on the screen vary from item to item. Please check
the price structure of your chosen item before confirming your choice.
Please note that after the initial period, the full daily rental applies.
This price structures applies 7 Days a Week, 365/6 Days a year.
Returning
An Item :
1. Insert Membership card in the Main Controller Slot.
2. Wait for the Machine (Reading Window Located on Top Right) to advise you
to insert the item.
3. Repeat
if more than one item but remember to wait for instructions. NOTE: It is
imperative that you return one item at a time giving the machine time to
analyse the return.
4. Once
the procedure has ended, the machine will advise you of your credit balance.
5. Remember – if your account credit is insufficient to complete the transaction, the
machine will advise you and will not allow you to return all or any of
the items until you have credited your account Via the machine’s
Re-Charge System or you can also credit your account by calling into any
of the Video Clubs/Office where any amount will be accepted. Credit Cards
are also accepted (Minimum £10).
